The project

The integrated design by Technoacque iresulted in the development of a primary water treatment and recovery plant, leading to a notable decrease in energy and chemical consumption during the washing stages, while enhancing the quality of laundered garments.

The challenge

The initial context presented significant challenges related to procurement, which were addressed through a technical approach aimed at limiting water and energy consumption, as well as reducing chemical consumption, resulting in an improvement in the quality of laundered garments.

The solution

For the implementation of the plant, Technoacque utilized membrane desalination technology through reverse osmosis combined with micro-ultrafiltration systems and chemical-physical disinfection and stabilization systems. Designed for a capacity of 500 mยณ/day, the plant enabled the production of water with very low salinity for the replenishment of steam generators and for the preparation of washing baths.

The extremely low salinity of the water facilitated a significant reduction in blowdown (approximately 90%), attributed to the ability to operate with a considerably higher concentration factor in the boiler without exceeding the limits set by regulations.

  • A reduction of approximately 90% in the use of acidic formulations during the washing phases

  • A savings of approximately 10% in dye usage

  • Approximately 25% fuel saved for steam production

  • Reduction of approximately 180 tons of CO2 emissions needed to heat the water, equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by approximately 7,000 trees per year

Our commitment is to guarantee regular and economical operation of the plants as well as an optimal development of processes that require water,
at the lowest overall cost possible. All chemical treatments are optimized and monitored over
time by our specialised technicians located throughout the Italian territory.
